Jake Swantko

In 2021, Jake was nominated for a BAFTA for his work on The Dissident, a documentary about the assassination of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. He has also served as director of photography on four other documentary films that have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, including Manhunt, We Are the Giant, Entrapped and Icarus. The latter, which chronicles a filmmaker’s quest to uncover the truth behind doping in sports, received the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2018. Jake is also certified in conflict zone medical training by RISC, a nonprofit that assists freelance journalists working in some of the world’s most dangerous conflicts.
